Title: The Show Must Go On Coronavirus or Not!
Post by: holysmokes on March 10, 2020, 12:31:48 pm
So, now that stinkin' Santa Clara county has banned gatherings of 1,000 or more because of the coronavirus, are you going to continue planning in the hopes things will be resolved by showtime?  Or just maybe sell "only" 1,000 tickets?

All we know is that California's official "Shelter in Place" date has been extended to May 1st, 2020. The event itself is basically less than 3 months away by the time that shelter in place is over. I do expect that heightened safety measures will gradually relax as the case curve flattens.

Hope the organizers behind this would respond for any updates and let them know soon whether to cancel this year or put restricted measures.

I also discovered that Exa Arcadia has cancelled their physical presence out of safety:

We can only hope and pray that California keeps up as leader of "Shelter in Place" as other states have lagged behind on safety measures.

Right now the team is evaluating options and has not made a definitive call as to what we'll be able to do this year. There are a few ideas being discussed, but we're looking to official sources for the best information about public gatherings and the risks therein. We want to have fun; we need to be safe. We'll see what we can make happen!

Stand by, it's still being actively discussed. The official statement is on our home page.
